Your Yoga class
What to expect
At the beginning of class we will spend a few minutes quietly bringing the mind into focus with a centring practice bringing ourselves into the present moment. This could be in a sitting position or lying down on the floor
We will also practice a limbering session to warm the muscles and loosen the joints to prepare the body for our Yoga session
We will practice a variety of Yoga asanas to help stretch and tone the body bringing mobility into the spine.
We may practice simple breathing exercises and/ or meditation
We will finish with a short relaxation to allow the body to rest and absorb the full effects of our yoga session. Relaxation helps the body to recover, lowering respiration and pulse rate allowing us to feel rested and rejuvenated.
Yoga is not just about what we do, it's about what we experience, what we can feel, so I will invite you to observe, to notice and become self-aware throughout the practice.
Yoga Philosophy may be weaved through the lessons and often there is a theme or a central message to the class.
What to bring to your yoga class
A Yoga mat, strap and/or blocks if you have them
A blanket or extra clothing for relaxation
A cushion or pillow to put under your head or to pad the knees
