The Yoga for Healthy Lower Backs course is a specialist yoga programme proven to help relieve chronic low back pain. It was designed for people who have non specific, chronic/recurring low back pain.  There is no need to wait until the painful back episode- begin now to learn lifelong skills to improve mental and physical health.

The course is a gentle, non strenuous yoga programme suitable for beginners.  Participants on the course learn yoga for pain relieving, healing and improvement of their back health for now and the future.

The course aims to  to re educate and re align the body, and raise self awareness of posture on an everyday basis. Poses will include standing, sitting, kneeling and lying down with stability and comfort. Relaxation is an important part of the course.

The course is based on a trial conducted by York University in conjunction with, the British Wheel of Yoga and the Iyengar Yoga Association.

The course lasts for  12 weeks and will be split into two parts.
