Your Yoga class

What to expect:

At the beginning of class we will spend a few minutes quietly bringing the mind and body into focus with a breath awareness practice.

We will also complete a limbering session to warm the muscles and loosen the joints to prepare the body for our Yoga practice

We will practice movement and Yoga asanas to help stretch and tone the body bringing mobility, flexibility and space into the spine, often focusing on linking movement with the breath. These movements can be either lying down, on back or front of the body, on the hands and knees or standing.

We will finish with a short relaxation, breathing practice and/or meditation. Relaxation is longer in the 90 min classes.

Relaxation is an important part of our Yoga practice. Relaxation allows the body to settle and absorb the full effects of our yoga session. Relaxation helps the body to rest and recover, lowering respiration and pulse rate helping us to feel calm, rested and rejuvenated. Relaxations are longer in a 90 minute class.

Mixed ability classes usually also include a Yoga related theme.

What to bring to your yoga class:

A Yoga mat, strap and/or blocks if you have them

A blanket, pillow, eye pillow or extra clothing for relaxation to make yourself cosy and warm

Something to put under your knees to protect your knees when kneeling.

A drink of water

and of course an open mind!
